The Davenport Homes
– I am very pleased to welcome you to Bentley Heath Cottages –
Davenport Homes, the Trust which operates these almshouses, was formed in 1935. Since then it has been providing much needed accommodation for retired persons with limited financial means in the West Midlands.
Our aim is to provide comfortable accommodation where elderly people can live independently and securely within a community, whilst keeping contact with friends and relatives in the area they are familiar with. Our accommodation comprises 36 cottages and 4 flats located in a sheltered area of Knowle, Solihull.
The charity is run by a board of trustees, all of whom are volunteers. The trustees are responsible for the overall management of the charity and ensuring that they conform with the charity’s governing document.
My co-trustees and I hope that you find the following pages useful in helping you decide whether you wish to apply for accommodation in one of our cottages.
